From archeological and architecture point of view this monastery has a pyramid like dome which is very distinctive in Iranian structures. Also the walls and the arches are made out of different stone which give the monastery a beautiful appearance. There are many inscription in Armenian language on the walls and also many geometrical shapes and figurines again on the wall.
This architecture of this monastery had been an inspiration for building another monastery called “Vank Monastery” in the city of jolfa in Esfehan.
There are few monasteries and churches in Iran which belongs to Armenian and Christian people. However, these few are very distinctive and interesting for Iranian and foreign tourists.
We hope you enjoy visiting this place. Here you can find some pictures taken by Bahram Abedini and a google direction which will help you travel there.
